Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Nabla Finance, HyperEVM, and single-sided liquidity.
What is Nabla Finance? +
Nabla Finance is a DeFi protocol offering single-sided liquidity pools on HyperEVM. Users can deposit a single asset (e.g., USDT0, UETH, UBTC, WHYPE) to earn swap fees without impermanent loss. A backstop pool insures all swap pools, providing additional security.
What is HyperEVM and why does Nabla use it? +
HyperEVM is the execution environment of Hyperliquid, a high-performance layer-1 blockchain. It offers fast finality, low fees, and deep liquidity. Nabla leverages HyperEVM to provide sub‑second swaps and efficient pool management.
What is a single‑sided liquidity pool? +
Unlike traditional AMMs that require depositing two tokens in a fixed ratio, Nabla's single‑sided pools allow you to deposit only one asset (e.g., USDT0). The protocol manages the other side using the backstop, so you never face impermanent loss.
What is the backstop pool and how does it work? +
The backstop pool is a reserve of USDT0 that backs all swap pools. It absorbs deficits when a swap pool's coverage drops below 100%, ensuring LPs can always withdraw their deposits. In return, the backstop earns a share of protocol fees.
What is "Coverage" in the pools table? +
Coverage is the ratio of a pool's reserves (the asset it holds) to its liabilities (what it owes to LPs). A coverage above 100% means the pool has surplus assets; below 100% means it relies on the backstop. Healthy pools are near 100%.
How do I earn yield on Nabla? +
You earn yield by depositing into a swap pool or the backstop pool. Swap fees from trades are distributed to LPs proportional to their share. You can also stake $NABLA tokens to earn additional rewards and voting power.
Is there any impermanent loss? +
No. Because you deposit only a single asset, your position is not exposed to price‑ratio changes between two tokens. The protocol absorbs any imbalance, so you never suffer impermanent loss.
What tokens are currently available on Nabla? +
On HyperEVM, Nabla supports USDT0 (stable), UETH (wrapped Ether), UBTC (wrapped Bitcoin), and WHYPE (wrapped HYPE). More assets will be added through governance.
How do I deposit into a pool? +
Click "Deposit" on any pool row. A modal will appear where you enter the amount and confirm the transaction. After the transaction is mined, your position appears in the Portfolio page.
How do I withdraw from a pool? +
Click "Withdraw" on the pool, enter the amount, and confirm. Withdrawals are subject to a 1‑block cooldown to prevent flash‑loan attacks. You can withdraw in the same asset or choose another asset via the backstop (cross‑redeem).
What is the $NABLA token and how do I get it? +
$NABLA is the governance and reward token of Nabla Finance. It is available on Base chain. You can swap for it on Aerodrome or other DEXs, or earn it by staking and providing liquidity.
How does staking $NABLA work? +
Stake $NABLA to earn a share of protocol fees and governance voting power. The longer you stake, the higher your "boost" multiplier (up to 2x). Unstaking has a 14‑day cooldown period.
Can I unstake $NABLA at any time? +
You can initiate an unstake at any time, but the tokens are locked for 14 days before you can finalize and withdraw. This protects the protocol from sudden sell‑offs.
What are the fees for swapping on Nabla? +
The swap fee is dynamic but typically around 0.04%–0.1%, depending on the pool's utilization. Fees are distributed to liquidity providers and the backstop.
Is Nabla Finance audited? +
Yes, Nabla's smart contracts have been audited by leading security firms. You can find the audit reports in the documentation. The protocol is also open source.
What wallets can I use with Nabla? +
Any EVM‑compatible wallet that supports HyperEVM, such as MetaMask, OKX Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect. Make sure your wallet is configured to the HyperEVM network (chain ID 999).
How do I switch to HyperEVM in my wallet? +
You can use the chain‑switching functionality in your wallet. If HyperEVM is not listed, you can add it manually with: Network Name: HyperEVM, RPC URL: https://rpc.hyperliquid.xyz/evm, Chain ID: 999, Symbol: HYPE, Explorer: https://hyper.xyz.
What is the difference between a swap pool and the backstop pool? +
Swap pools hold a specific asset (e.g., UETH) and facilitate trades. The backstop pool holds USDT0 and acts as insurance for all swap pools. When a swap pool has a deficit, the backstop covers it; when it has a surplus, the surplus flows to the backstop.
How is the APR calculated? +
APR is derived from the swap fees earned by the pool over the last 24 hours and 7 days, annualized, based on the pool's current TVL. It updates every minute.
Can I lose my deposited assets? +
While smart contract risk exists (the code is audited), the protocol is designed so that LPs always have a claim on the underlying assets. In the worst case, the backstop ensures you can withdraw your principal.
What is the minimum deposit amount? +
There is no hard minimum, but you should consider transaction fees (gas) when depositing small amounts. Typically, deposits of $10+ are practical.
What is the "cap" shown in the reserves/liabilities column? +
Each pool has a maximum capacity (cap) to manage risk. Once the cap is reached, no new deposits are allowed until the pool expands or withdrawals reduce the usage.
What is the "my position" column? +
It shows the current value of your deposit in that pool, in the pool's asset. If you have no position, it shows "—".
How do I claim my earned rewards? +
Rewards from swap pools are automatically compounded into your position — you don't need to claim them. For $NABLA staking rewards, you can claim them on the Staking page.
Is there a referral program? +
Currently, Nabla does not have a formal referral program, but you can share your experience with others. Future updates may include referral incentives.
What is the total value locked (TVL) on Nabla? +
TVL is shown at the top of the Pools page. It includes all deposits in swap pools and the backstop. It updates in real time.
How do I vote on Nabla governance proposals? +
To vote, you need to stake $NABLA to acquire voting power. Governance proposals are managed on the Tally platform, accessible via the "Gov" link in the navigation.
What is the purpose of the "Boost" factor in staking? +
The boost multiplier (up to 2x) rewards long‑term stakers. It increases the longer you stake without withdrawing, giving you higher rewards and voting power.
Can I use a hardware wallet with Nabla? +
Yes, hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor are supported via the wallet's browser extension (e.g., MetaMask with Ledger).
What is the "cross‑redeem" option when withdrawing? +
Cross‑redeem allows you to withdraw from a swap pool in a different asset (e.g., withdraw UETH as USDT0). The backstop facilitates this, but it may be subject to a timelock.
What are the "Other chains" shown in the header? +
Nabla is deployed on multiple chains: HyperEVM, Base, Arbitrum, and Berachain. You can switch to view pools and trade on those networks.
What is "Swap pool cover" in the stats row? +
It is the ratio of total assets backing all swap pools (including backstop reserves) to the total liabilities owed to LPs. A value above 100% means the system has a buffer.
Are there any deposit fees? +
No, depositing into a pool does not incur a protocol fee. You only pay gas for the transaction.
How often do pool stats update? +
Pool stats are refreshed every minute from the indexer (Goldsky), ensuring you see near‑real‑time data.
Where can I find the Nabla documentation? +
The official documentation is available at docs.nabla.fi. It covers all protocol details, smart contract architecture, and user guides.
Is Nabla open source? +
Yes, Nabla's smart contracts are open source and available on GitHub. The frontend code is also publicly accessible.
What is the governance model of Nabla? +
Nabla is governed by the $NABLA token holders. Stakers can vote on fee adjustments, pool parameters, and protocol upgrades. The voting power is boosted based on staking duration.
How do I report a bug or vulnerability? +
Please contact the team through the official Discord or use the bug bounty program (details in the documentation).
What is the "My positions" toggle? +
It filters the pool list to show only pools where you have a positive balance. Useful for tracking your active deposits.
Can I provide liquidity with stablecoins other than USDT0? +
Currently, USDT0 is the primary stable used in the backstop. Other stablecoins may be added in future pool deployments.
Is there a mobile app for Nabla? +
Nabla is a web‑based application and works well on mobile browsers. A native app is not yet available, but you can add the site to your home screen.
